Interests: I love Ice Hockey, but I am not very fond of the new rules. I used to love model rockets. I am a big fan of Hawaian shirts and shorts. I wish that I could say that I love to read, but I spend most of my free time playing varous video games. There is only one thing, however, in which I find my purpose and true interest in life. To fear God and obey His commandments. I do not claim to follow this all of the time, but the only times that I am truly satisfied happen while following this creed.

first day

Hey y'all,
So lots has happened since my last update.  We had an amazing first day yesterday.  God worked in awesome and marvelous ways.  We made it to four villages.  The first one had many Jahanka in it and was very hospitable.  The second was hospitable but did not have many Jahanka.  Other peoples in this area include but are not limited to: Mandinka, Malinke, Fulani, Pular, and others.  There have been many Mandinka and Fulani peoples in the villages in which we have stopped.  So far, they have outnumbered the Jahanka.  The third village that we visited was similar to the second.  But the fourth village was much larger.  We had spent about an hour and a half in the fourth village when we were ready to go.  But the Holy Spirit didn't let us go.  We knew that we had more to do in the village.  So we kept wandering until we found this man who came up to us and told us that his stomach was hurting him.  So we prayed that God would heal him.  And we left a tape with him.  Then we came upon a family that we had been previously talking to in the marketplace.  We offered them a tape and they received it and began listening to it right away.  We sat there and listened to it with them until the next call to prayer came.  Then they turned it off.  Please pray that the Lord will accomplish His work with this man and this family.  Pray that the gospel that is preached on the tapes would spread like wildfire in that village.
More to come later.

Hey y'all.  Things are going well here in Africa.  Today is orientation day for Jon and I as we prepare for this 21 day excursion among the Jahanka people.  Jeremy and Kimberley are the missionaries that we are staying and working with.  They have a little three year old daughter named Abigail who is so cute.  I will not be able to update often but I will try to update at least when I get back to the States sometime at the end of the month.  God bless you all and hello from Africa!

Talk about Good!

For those of you who don't know, I am engaged!  The glorious event took place on Valentines Day of this year and I have been beaming ever since.  I obviously never get on this thing, but I couldn't let say "six months" any longer when we are less than a month away from one year!  God is awesome.  The love that He has given Amanda and I both for each other is supernatural and amazing.  His guidance in our relationship has been hands-on and evident.  He is Lord and He is good.

I am also going to West Africa for the month of may (leaving the 4th and coming back on the 28th).  So any of y'all who would, please pray for the people of West Africa.  And pray that God would give them visions and dreams that would prepare them for our arrival.  Pray that God would be glorified in this trip.  God bless you all.

6 months

Hey y'all, I am excited and proud to report that Amanda and I had our six month aniversary yesterday.  I can't believe that it has been six months already.  She is pretty great.  We had a nice dinner at a local restaurant and then we came back to my house to watch Hoodwinked.  It was a great night.  For all you out there that are praying for us, thank you.  And please continue to pray as we continue to pursue each other under God.

Since I have been home on break (five days now) I have gotten to spend time with everyone in my family.  It is so wonderful to spend time with them again.  I have been jammed up writing papers for the last three weeks solid and got little family or Amanda time.  It is really great to see them all again.  My thanksgiving was amazing.  I didn't get a nap though.  Did you?
